ABSTRACT
Social Media is often seen as a distraction at the workplace by management. Whether it is checking Facebook or liking a picture on Instagram, the desire to check social media is a constant itch. Blocking access to social media sites may seem like a solution, however, many studies have shown that this action backfires and slows down productivity. This paper will discuss the use of social media in the work place and provide a template for building a social media policy and cases of SocialCorps that have implemented social media policies to their advantage. .
