ABSTRACT
Can creativity be learned, inborn, or a combination of both? If creativity can be learned, how can we incorporate creativity into faculty teaching and student learning? This study aims to address those questions by discussing the experiences and lessons learned from a Creativity Faculty Fellows program at Bryant University. Some lessons discussed in this paper include the importance of purposelessness in encouraging creativity, as well as letting go of fear and being able to see integration between various media and between different subjects. The paper considers ways to incorporate creativity into the classroom through the incorporation of flexibility and a more process-oriented approach, integration between different subjects/schools, development of technology to facilitate creativity, and the creation of a fun, fear-free environment. Finally, the paper discusses students' perceptions on creativity, and their comments on the installation of the Faculty Fellow's creative works.
